Why is Omega Strikers shutting down? ›

The game was regularly receiving patch updates, new characters, events, and so the fun continued. Then on November 3rd, Odyssey Interactive posted a video titled, “The Future of Omega Strikers.” The video explains how Omega Strikers' player base had shrunk to the point where the studio couldn't sustain itself anymore.

Omega Strikers was the #1122 most played game in April 2024, based on the number of monthly active users or players. Omega Strikers is a Sports game developed by Odyssey Interactive that can be played on Windows, PC (Steam), Xbox One, PlayStation 5, iOS, Android, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4.

Omega Strikers will be free-to-play supported by optional in game purchases such as cosmetics, characters, and a seasonal battle pass. Omega Strikers will NOT be a pay for power game.

Odyssey developers are going to be pivoting to new games in the Strikers universe. While this sounds exciting, this unfortunately means that Omega Strikers is losing support from the team. After the next update, there will be no new content updates. Omega Strikers servers will remain and matchmaking will be live.

Despite having so much going for it in terms of both marketing and hype, Omega Strikers failed to retain player numbers and growth in the months after launch which has left many to wonder how a game with so much ambition and momentum behind met such a sudden demise.

Does Omega Strikers have ranked? ›

Once a player manages to reach 100 LP they will be promoted into the next rank and also be granted 10 LP. If a player loses a game whenever they have 0 LP they will demote down a rank. After a player reaches Omega rank their LP will be uncapped and they will be able to go over 100 LP.

Experience (or EXP) is an in-game mechanic that increases a Striker's Max Stagger and unlocks their Special Ability at level 2. All Strikers begin matches at level 1, with actions granting Experience towards leveling up.

Omega Strikers is rated E for Everyone, with family-friendly language, no in-game chat, and minimal violence.
